This bedroom set has functional modern sophistication. It is what the bridge collection is all about. The majestic profile of its slip covered headboard softens the clean contemporary lines of this custom bed system. Created by award-winning designer Joël Dupras and produced by Huppe.
Huppé is a Quebec based business founded in 1967 by Mr. Raymond Hamel and his two brothers, Aurèle and Sylvio. In its beginning, the company was devoted to manufacturing cedar chests and its entire production was destined to the Cercle d’économie de la future ménagère, a home economics organization. Huppé’s cedar chests quickly found their way into several Canadian homes from Halifax to Vancouver.
To increase its production capacity, the business moved five times: First, from the basement of Aurèle’s home to an old hen house transformed into a shop and finally, to a building constructed in an industrial park.
The founders saw big. To their cedar chest production, they added coffee tables and over the years, wall units, dining room furnishings and bedroom furniture. With these changes, they introduced their products at various furniture shows from coast to coast.
Raymond’s son, Jacques Hamel, took over the business in the nineties, and began specializing in modern and contemporary design, focusing mainly on bedroom furnishings, wall units, and home office furniture, and until 2008, upholstery.
Acquired by Mr. Jean-François Nolin in January 2010, the business is currently turning over a fresh, new leaf. Specialists of modern and contemporary furniture for now over 20 years, it is with a brand new image that Huppé is making its mark on the market as the leader in contemporary furniture. The arrival of designer Joël Dupras, known for his talent and expertise, reinforces the company’s positioning.
The development of the new « UP by Huppé » product line, offers consumers an alternative to European imports. The company also continues to develop new products for its “Huppé” line and to propose new finishes and materials that reflect current contemporary design trends.
Dynamic management, professional employees, as well as quality products and customer service, have contributed to the company’s success and still do to this day.
